Supported by the Galinson/Glickman Campus Civility Program at UC San Diego, a partnership between the National Conflict Resolution Center and UC San Diego.
Tritons Together is a UC San Diego campus initiative intended to provide opportunities for students to learn about themselves, perspectives of others, and to gain the skills needed to put the Principles of Community into action.
Student Organizations
Conflict is inevitable in groups. Students experience it with roommates, in families, and in student organizations.
The UC San Diego Principles of Community are core values of the university and the Center
for Student Involvement. As student organization leaders, you have a tremendous opportunity to
build and shape communities as places of belonging on campus. Communication skills are the building
blocks for creating thriving and inclusive groups.
Principal members of all student organizations at UC San Diego—sororities/fraternities, volunteer clubs,
and other groups—are required to take the "The Art of Inclusive Communication," a three-hour workshop developed
by the National Conflict Resolution Center.
This workshop will use everyday
situations on and off campus to explore challenges and strategies for communicating and
connecting in diverse groups. Student organization leaders will ...
- learn and practice key communication techniques
- focus on inclusive communication skill building
- understand and practice conflict resolution
- ... all in a fun and interactive way!
